Bleeding Disorders Advocacy Network
Fall Family Retreat
Since 2005, the BDAN Fall Family Retreat has provided families and individuals with bleeding disorders from across New York State an opportunity to learn, connect, and play in the splendor that is fall in the Adirondacks. This 3-day, 2-night retreat, held annually on Columbus Day weekend, is facilitated by a dedicated group of volunteers who are committed to having a positive impact on the lives of our families.
Help Change a Life!
Since 2010 the families from our Fall Retreat have joined together to change the life of a young person with a bleeding disorder half-way around the world.
How do we do this? Everyone who joins us at the Family Retreat saves their loose change for 1 month before the Retreat. Then we donate the coins to Save One Life, which uses all of the money to help people with bleeding disorders in under developed countries.
Currently we sponsor Sangeetha, a teen age girl with Von Willebrands Disease living in rural India. The money donated by our families helps Sangeetha stay healthy and in school so one day she can grow up to be a science teacher and support herself.
Our families are proud to help Sangeetha! To learn how you can change the life of someone with a bleeding disorders in under developed countries, please visit http://www.saveonelife.net/
